I'm a Canadian native speaker with the CELTA certificate from the British Council, and I've been teaching English privately for several years. My focus is conversation: helping you speak more fluently, more naturally, and with more confidence.

Many learners know plenty of grammar and vocabulary but freeze when it's time to speak. My lessons are about getting past that. We talk about things that interest you, whether that's work, travel, culture, current events or your daily life, and I help you find the words you need as we go.

I keep my own talking to a minimum, because the point is for you to speak. Along the way I note useful expressions and the mistakes that matter, then we go over them so you can hear the difference and use the language correctly next time. I'm patient, I won't make you feel embarrassed about mistakes, and my feedback is clear and honest.

I teach teenagers and adults at all levels. Outside teaching, I'm a painter and visual artist, so I'm curious about people and ideas, and there's always something to talk about.
