I have a Trinity College TESOL Certificate and over 20 years of experience teaching Business English and business ideas to adults, mostly in-company in Poland across many different sectors including law, finance, ICT and retail, which is my particular specialisation. I also have plenty of other business experience, having worked in London in market research, management consultancy and designer furniture and lighting before becoming self-employed as an English Teacher and Voice Artist in Poznan. I have a degree in Psychology from the University of London and a master’s degree in Knowledge Engineering, which is an area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am a member of the British Psychological Society and I incorporate a lot of what I have learned into my lessons, in particular regarding psycholinguistics and effective communication. I am a strong believer in the principle that you learn best when you are truly engaged in a subject and you genuinely want to understand more and express yourself better. For that reason, I will make my lessons as relevant, stimulating and enjoyable for you as possible. I also know that confidence is essential to good communication, so I will do my best to help you build this. One important way is to improve your vocabulary – the more words that you can recognise, understand and use, the more confident and comfortable you will become. I have a wide range of materials covering all the different skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – and I can also design my own lessons and exercises specifically for you based on online videos and texts. We can spend our lesson time together in any way you wish. If you would like to work on something important in your job or career, such as writing a letter or email or preparing for a presentation, meeting, interview or phone call, I will be delighted to help. Otherwise, we can discuss a subject of your choice and examine and record any new vocabulary generated, again reinforced with videos, readings and written exercises, either during the lesson or as homework.
