Hello future student!
My name is Raquel Cheri, and I'm a language teacher from the United States. As a native speaker with a master certification, I've been teaching for nearly 10 years in Poland. I specialize in general and business English, as well as exam preparation for teenagers and adults alike. I'm very passionate about my work, and you can always count on me to bring good energy and humor to every meeting!
Over the years I developed my own personal methodology for teaching, creating an effective and fun mix of learning styles to help my students succeed! Lessons remain standardized in their format for easy preparation, but change in learning style from week to week to help you learn faster and to keep things interesting.
About my teaching methodology:
- Full-immersion English
- Weekly new vocabulary
- Media based discussions (videos, articles, music lyrics, etc.)
- Simple grammar reminders
- Pronunciation adjustment
- Thought-provoking Q & A's
About the lessons:
- 60 minutes long, once or twice a week. (90 minute lessons are also available.)
- Held remotely via Google Meet (you do not need an account or subscription.)
- All materials are free and digital (printable pdf for those who like physical notes!)
- Contracts are for one calendar year.
- Deposits are paid month to month for 4 lessons at a time (paid in advance.)
- The current cost of lessons are 150 pln / 60 minutes, 200 pln / 90 minutes.
.Whatever your goals are, I can help you make 2025 your year to achieve them! Improving your language skills will make you more marketable in the professional world, will increase your average salary and will help your brain increase its cognitive function; including improved memory, higher emotional intelligence and stronger problem-solving skills. Together we can help you succeed!
Send me a message today, start learning tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Raquel Cheri

"I have been working with Raquel for four and a half years. During this time, we have continuously worked on speaking freely, understanding others and enriching my vocabulary to express myself in English more like my native language. I am extremely grateful for the personalized approach, openness, flexibility and all the progress that has been made. Raquel motivated me to analyze deep topics in English, which was very stimulating to develop my linguistic expression, as well as to use the language boldly. It was also a time of cultural exchange for me, which I also greatly appreciated. We also focused on building business language, which is essential for my work. I highly recommend this teacher and person."

"I am delighted to write this recommendation for Raquel, an outstanding English teacher with whom I have had the pleasure of working one-on-one for the past five years.Raquel possesses an exceptional passion for teaching, which is evident in her enthusiastic and engaging approach to lessons. Her friendly demeanor creates a welcoming learning environment where I always felt comfortable and motivated to participate. One of Raquel’s greatest strengths is her patience. She is always willing to explain concepts multiple times and in various ways to ensure I fully grasped the material. Her dedication to my success has been truly commendable. Whether our lessons were conducted online or in person, Raquel consistently provided exceptional instruction. Both formats were equally effective and enjoyable, highlighting her versatility and commitment to high-quality teaching. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Raquel. About me:
I was born and raised in Indiana, USA. Indiana is famous for the Indy 500, the Indiana Pacers basketball team, Purdue University (one of the top engineering universities in the country!) and lastly our production of corn. The boot-shaped state is full of stunning natural landscapes and enjoys four distinct seasons throughout the year. A fun fact, Hoosiers (natives of Indiana) have the most neutral, clear accent in all of the U.S., and public speakers are often trained to mimic our accent!
Ethnically and culturally I am mixed half Mexican and half Russian-Ukrainian. Though English is my first language, I also speak Spanish and Russian. I had a childhood full of mixed traditions and cultural exploration, which inspires me still to continue learning about other cultures.
I was educated in the United States, finishing my ABA in Business Management. Later I went back to school to receive my master certification for teaching languages. I absolutely love learning, and in my free time I like to research various subjects like history, psychology, and biology!
I am naturally quite introverted; an INFP on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Though I enjoy my work and spending time with my friends, I mostly enjoy spending my free time alone. I love to read, write poetry, paint (acrylic and oil on cotton canvas), hike in the woods or mountains, sing karaoke and dance salsa/bachata. I adore animals, and have had pets in the past, like dogs, cats, fish, and even rats!
Nearly 10 years ago I moved to Poland on my own, after visiting for a holiday and falling in love with the country. I feel that Polish people are hard-working, intelligent and most of all, resilient. I am always so touched by the hospitality and kindness of my Polish friends and neighbors. Some of my favorite foods are Żurek, Bigos, and of course pierogi! I enjoy good vodka and whiskey on occasion as well. My favorite places are Gdansk and Zakopane. My Polish language skills are masakra. :) (But I do try!) The weather is also masakra. But it's my home, and I love this place!
